Training Camp, Fuerteventura

01.02-15.02.25
Lajares, Fuerteventura

Are you ready to step up your surfing? Our camp on Fuerteventura is the best place to do so! Join 20 like-minded students from all over Switzerland for one or two weeks of first-class surfing and cozy camp vibes.

Surf

The camp includes 5 days of guided surfing. The surf trips take around 4 hours with the rest of the day spent at the camp or exploring the island. You are encouraged to form groups and rent cars for additional surf sessions (see section Transport below).

There are 4 courses to choose from depending on your level:

  • Beginner Class: You have no or very little surf experience
  • Intermediate Class: You have taken surf classes before
  • Advanced Class: You can paddle out into the line-up and master the take-off, you have the fitness to paddle for long periods, and you can ride waves sideways (frontside & backside)
  • Coaching: You have been free-surfing for a while now, have your own equipment, and want to improve specific aspects of your technique

Classes (14 spots)

Beginner, Aufsteiger, and Intermediate classes take around 4 hours (transport, theory, warm-up, and surf) and include all material (also wetsuits). All you have to bring is a towel, sun screen, and something to drink.

You don’t have to choose your level for the booking now, but later in the process when checking in with Kyuka.

Coaching (5 spots)

Advanced surfers benefit from video analysis, advice, and correction by the experienced instructors of Tight Arcs. Sessions include 2 hours of surfing at the best possible spot. Material is not included, but has to be brought along by the participant (or rented on the island). If conditions don’t fit due to wind or lack of swell, we’ll improve our technique on surfskates. Check out Tight Arcs' instagram!

Good to know

Water Temperatures

In February, the water should have around 18° C. Bring a new 3/2 wetsuit or a 4/3 if you like it a little warmer.

Reef

Most of the lessons take place near reefs. Bring booties if you’d rather not get your feet massaged on the way in and out of the water ;)

Accommodation

We will be accommodated in the newly opened Kyuka Surfclub run by Swiss brothers Sascha and Timo. Check out their instagram!

The camp includes:

  • airport transport
  • 4-bed rooms
  • 3 healthy meals per day

Transport

Getting Around

AutoReisen is the recommended rental with cars for as little as 20€ a day with full insurance coverage.

Getting There

Flight

Being an island, it’s probably most convenient to travel by plane. With the camp starting on a Saturday, it would make most sense to take the direct EasyJet connection from Basel. After booking, you will be added to a WhatsApp group with all participants to facilitate our travel there.

Flights are still relatively cheap, so better be quick!

Ferry

In case you have plenty of time, there’s a 28h-ferry from Cadiz, Spain departing on the 28.01.

Sailboat

Only for the adventurous: get a ride on a sailboat and get credits for the most epic trip to the camp. Hint: google “Hand gegen Koje”…
